Sooner or later your home fitness program may become stale and boring. There are two options to fix this, quit or get creative.
And since quit isn’t an option let’s stick with creative. For most the hardest part of a fitness routine is getting it started, so keep the momentum going with the following suggestions.
Get off the treadmill or rowing machine and get outside. Play with the kids. Hide and Go Seek, Skipping rope, bicycling or just running around and having fun are all activities that can increase your heart rate and allow you quality time with the kids.
No kids, invite a friend or family member to join you. Someone to talk to and joke around with will do wonders for turning a seemingly never ending routine into a” where did the time go” experience. You’ll also have the added benefit of mutual motivation and inspiration.
Have a pool? Swimming some laps or simply splashing around is always fun. Plus you have the resistance of the water to help achieve your fitness goals. Think about this; when was the last time you were in the water and thought “oh no another workout”, I’ll bet never.
Blast some high energy tunes or whatever gets your mood up. This is one of my favorites. Queuing up your favorite music makes it seem like you have an energy reserve you weren’t aware of. I can here CC Music Factory belting out Everybody Dance Now as I type this.
